The UXO Tech I may possess at least four (4) years of combined EOD and contractor UXO experience. In addition to being able to perform all of the UXO Tech I duties, the Tech will be responsible for conducting the following activities:
Supervise and perform on-site inspection, transportation, demilitarization, destruction, and packaging of munitions and explosives of concern. The UXO Tech I serves as a team leader for EnviroSafe Demil's (ESD) demilitarization operations at the Hooks, TX facility. This position has a crucial role of ensuring that tasks, standards, and procedures are appropriately followed on a daily basis to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare firing systems, both electric and non-electric, for demilitarization operations.
- Assist in inspections of Material Presenting an explosive hazard;
- Responsible for UXO-related protective works.
- Other assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a qualified explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) school. As an exception, a UXO I may be a graduate of a qualified UXO school
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification IAW 29 CFR 1910.120
- Current 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER Physical
- Ability to work outside normal work hours at short notice as dictated by work load
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Valid Drivers License & clean driving record.
- Able to pass a criminal background screening.
